Singing - with attitude! -
Singing Blokes
In 2007 by a series of strange coincidences, Chris got picked up by the vast, rumbling, black-clad behemoth that is The Spooky Men's Chorale.
He's subsequently toured with them again in 2009/11/13/14/15/17 and plans are afoot for another UK/Europe venture in 2019. There is also now an improbable UK-based spinoff, A Fistful of Spookies performing select gigs and at niche festivals around the UK as well as forays to Paris and Ibiza!
Singing like a bloke has had a profound effect. During 2008 as a result of a one-off workshop, The Magnificent AK47 (the singing blokes of Ashton Keynes) were conceived, gestated and dragged, kicking and growling into the world. We now perform regularly in pubs, breweries and the occasional theatre around Wiltshire, but have also strayed as far as the Colston Hall in Bristol, The Roundhouse in London and two award-winning trips to Irish choral festivals.
In 2012, we strayed over the county-line into Gloucestershire for a whole weekend - our first Blokefest. This proved so popular that its happened annualy since, although it's mostly been in Wiltshire with a trip to Anglesey in 2017 and in 2019 we're heading to Yorkshire.
The only requirement is a Y chromosome and the desire to tap into your inner minstrel (whether or not you think you can sing).
